Cardboard Canoe
We were designed to build a boat out of cardboard and duck tape.
• Feedback - Generate ten items of feedback for your effort (from the design/build process and/or the actual product). Make sure you include at least one item of feedaback in each of our four feedback areas (+, change, ?, !) +One thing we did well was building a v-bottom canoe. If I could of changed something, i would of changed our design because it didnt work. I would also change how unstable it was.
• How Low Did You Go? - How low in the water did your canoe sit (roughly)? Was it suprising how little your boat went down in the water? What is the unit weight of water in pounds? How much did your pilot weigh (roughly)? Use math to help explain the depth that your boat sat in the water. Our canoe satt almost a foot into the water. It wasnt suprising how fast our canoe sunk. The unit weight of water in pinds is 64.2 pounds. Our piolt wrighted like 130 about.
• Redesign - If we were to do another Carboard Canoe race next semester, what would you build? Draw from everything you experienced in your class and propose the most competative solution. Include a sketch with key features and dimensions labeled. If I were to redegin our boat I wouldnt use a v-bottom, I would use a flat bottom. I would also put more layers of cardboard on the bottom. to keep the water from getting into the boat.
• (Make Your Own Achievement) - Make an achievement of your own design that you can award yourself for something awesome your team did. I think our team won the most confident award. Our boat at first didnt look so well, so we tried to fix it. It didnt look like it would make it but we still tried our best and didnt give up in the water. We did our best and had fun while doing it.
